Last summer we strolled through Bushwick and Central Park marveling at the beauty of each contrasting landscape. To kick off this feature in 2013 I am taking you around my new home city, while we stroll around the Botanical Garden in Miami Beach. For those locals whom never been I highly recommend it. Entry is FREE and they have a fantastic farmer’s market on the weekend. The garden has many trails you can wonder on and then sit under one of the royal palms and enjoy a tasty lunch from the food trucks that make an appearance. They also have a natural fruit juice stand. Oh yea and there’s even a thrift market that sells all kinds of odd items in the back too. Pay this beautiful place a visit. I hope my pictures will inspire you to connect with mother nature. Peace out!
I am so excited to tell you that I’ve discovered my new favorite place in Miami Beach. During this year’s Music Conference I was invited to the Kitsuné Le Pool Party at Freehand Miami and it was so much fun! The Freehand Miami is a wonderful new addition to the beach and by far the most chic and luxurious a hostel can be. It was its easygoing, friendly pool atmosphere that won me over. The easiest way to nail down the vibe poolside is to compare it to The Standard without it’s memberships and rules. Seems they’ve just opened not too long ago and for this year’s Music Conference they got together with Kitsuné the French indie record label and clothing house. This was one of many events happening throughout the week. Performing at Le Pool Party were several great artists including my lovely and talented friend Alison Valentine. The native New Yorker, singer and flower entrepreneur also produced the beautiful flower creations you’ll see throughout. Miami could definitely benefit from her visit more often. As she delights not only with her beauty, her voice and her special hand for creating whimsical flower creations! As for the rest of the afternoon, tunes from Mia Moretti & Caitlin Moe aka The Dolls, Poolside, AMTRAC and Coleco rounded out the musical bill with generous infusions of tequila courtesy of Corzo! Salúd I say! Until next time…
And now roll the pictures…
The Spiaggia Rosa (the Pink Beach) takes its name from the colour of the sand, rich of pieces of coral, shells and little pieces of granite. The beach and the whole island belong to the Parco Nazionale dell’Arcipelago di La Maddalena (The Archipelago of La Maddalena National Park). The Pink Beach stands in Budelli, one of the islands of the Archipelago; Budelli has an area of just 1.6 square kilometres.
Years ago the beach could be visited by tourists, but now people can only see it from the near Spiaggia del Cavaliere (Cavalryman Beach). It’s such a beautiful sight in photographs I can only dream of what it must be like in person, titillating.
I just smile when I see Lindsey Wixson frolicking around in Miami and I am really, really jealous too. But it’s a 3-day weekend so let’s forget it’s freezing in NYC. All these amazing photographs are by the most in-demand pervert in fashion, Terry Richardson.
I love her and I love Miami 4eva!
