Spotlight: CHANEL SS12

The facts:

Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls become graceful and poised gymnasts  for the spring 2012 campaign from Chanel. Captured by the label’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld, the duo hits the beach  at the Hôtel du Cap Eden Roc in Cap-d’Antibes, France.

The opinion:

Karl Largerfeld is a genius. To take two beautiful models and shoot them in a classical way but still keeping interesting and pleasing to the eye with the gymnastics twist is well, perfect. The elegance, understated, still counters beautifully the message of balance, strength and femininity.

Above all the main idea of “elegance can be clean & simple” is always nice to see from a label as opulent and revered as CHANEL.

So there you have it, that’s why Karl is a genius.
